I offer personalised one-on-one guitar lessons in Petersham and online — for players of all levels, 18 and over. Whether you're picking up the guitar for the first time or trying to crack something that's stumped you for years, lessons are built entirely around what you want to learn.
Taught by a working guitarist
I'm a full-time professional guitarist and teacher. Alongside private lessons, my guitar instruction reaches thousands of players worldwide through my YouTube channel and Patreon community.
My focus is helping students understand how music actually works on the guitar — so they can move beyond memorising shapes and start playing with real confidence.
Students often work on improvisation and soloing, fretboard knowledge, music theory for guitar, learning songs properly, and structured practice methods.
Your lesson, your goals
Every lesson is tailored to what you want to achieve. Bring a list of songs you love, or choose from my prepared repertoire — either way, we work through them week by week while building real technique along the way.
You'll learn the chords, progressions, song structures, and techniques behind the music you care about. I provide tabs and handouts for everything, and you're welcome to record lessons on your phone. If you get stuck between sessions, I'm reachable to help you get back on track.
Sometimes I even create YouTube tutorials off the back of lesson material — so what you learn in the room can end up helping thousands of other players too.

In-person lessons are held at my studio in Petersham, conveniently located for students across the Inner West. Online lessons are available for students anywhere in the world.
Common questions
What do I need to bring?
Just your guitar. I'll supply tabs, sheet music, and handouts — plus links to any online content that supports your practice.
What will we learn?
Anything you want — it's your lesson. Send me a list of songs or goals before your first lesson and I'll prepare a personalised plan. Here's the list of songs I've already learned for students. I'm always happy to add new ones.
How long are lessons?
One hour. After booking I'll send a calendar invite with the time and location details.
How does payment work?
Lessons are $125 per hour including GST. After your first lesson I ask for payment one lesson in advance. Bank details are sent once you're booked. Guitar lesson gift vouchers are also available in the store.
I've never played before — is that okay?
Absolutely. I've taught complete beginners for over 25 years. You'll get a clear, step-by-step plan and you'll be playing songs faster than you expect.
What does a typical lesson look like?
Warm up, technique or theory, song work, and a personalised practice plan to take home. I often record short videos to help you practice between sessions.
How often should I have lessons?
Weekly for beginners and intermediates. Fortnightly works well for more experienced players. Consistent practice between lessons is what drives progress.
What styles do you teach?
Rock, blues, pop, soul, funk, and jazz — whatever fits your goals.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes — guitar lesson gift vouchers are available via the store or by getting in touch directly. They make a great present.
